The West Ham vs Brentford live stream features two sides from opposite sides of London both in desperate need of a win – but which one will go home with the bragging rights?

Things have gone from bad to worse for West Ham recently. It's now nearly two months since the Hammers won a game of football, a run that stretches back eight games to their victory over Arsenal just after Christmas, with a 2-0 defeat to struggling Nottm Forest last time out putting more pressure on David Moyes. Could another defeat here spell the end for the West Ham boss?

Things aren't much better for Brentford either. Their defeat to Man City last week meant the Bees have taken just six points – wins against Forest and Wolves – from their last 11 games. After tonight's game they face two more London derbies against Chelsea and Arsenal, so a win against the out-of-form Hammers would give them a decent buffer over the teams in the relegation zone.

Manchester City-loanee Kalvin Phillips is touted to be sidelined from the clash after being handed a disastrous red card in West Ham's defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Tomas Soucek is tipped to replace the English midfielder in the engine room while Moyes' men will be bolstered by the return of Brazilian playmaker Lucas Paqueta who is back from his injury spell.

The visitors will remain without the services of Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Ethan Pinnock, Kevin Schade, Bryan Mbeumo, and Josh Dasilva with all of them confined to the treatment room.

Ivan Toney will spearhead the attack once again for the Bees after thundering four goals since his return to football. He'll be supported by Neil Maupay in the attack with the latter replacing Yoane Wissa.

West Ham looks to stop the bleeding of a winless streak that dates back to Dec. 28 and spans six Premier League matches and two others in the FA Cup. The Hammers are 0-4-4 over that stretch with three straight losses by a combined 11-0 margin to Nottingham Forest (2-0), Arsenal (6-0) and Manchester United (3-0).

West Ham will have a small edge on its home turf against a Brentford side with a similar statistical profile, but this club has learned the hard way over the past two calendar months that they still have to make the plays.

For Brentford and West Ham, the records and point totals might not fully capture how evenly this match could be played. Brentford has a 7-4-14 season record and is 1-0-4 in its past five matches, but in terms of goal differential (-9 to -8), goals scored (36 to 35) and goals allowed (44 for both) has had a season remarkably similar to West Ham. Brentford also owns a 3-2 win over West Ham when they last met Nov. 4.

After a bright start to the season, the Hammers have slumped to 10th in the EPL standings after a wretched eight-match winless run that has seen them concede a worrying 16 goals.

With one win from their last five, Brentford are also in big need of a morale-boosting victory today. The Bees are still flirting dangerously with relegation in 15th position, with the return of star striker Ivan Toney from his lengthy suspension not triggering the uptick in results many had predicted.

David Moyes is fighting for not only his future but to keep his team’s domestic season alive, amid a run of eight games without a win.

The top six is rapidly escaping the Hammers, leaving them to scrap it out with Brighton, Newcastle, Chelsea and Wolves for a possible single spot in the Europa Conference League - unless they can produce their own Europa League heroics later in the season.

Perhaps it is both a blessing and a curse for West Ham that they now face Brentford.

The Bees are also struggling, dangling above the dropzone and beaten in four of their last five - albeit on a run of games that included Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City twice.

A defeat at home to Thomas Frank’s side would leave Moyes in even bigger trouble and make for a furious atmosphere in east London. But this is a fixture Brentford have done exceedingly well in since their return to the top flight.

Lucas Paqueta is back in contention in a major boost for West Ham, after almost two months out with a calf complaint.

Kalvin Phillips is suspended so Tomas Soucek should start while Moyes may choose to freshen up his preferred lineup after some lacklustre displays.

Brentford have lost Ethan Pinnock to an ankle injury until after March’s international break. Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry, Kevin Schade, Bryan Mbeumo and Aaron Hickey will also miss out. Mathias Jensen and Neal Maupay may be recalled to the XI having been benched for the defeat at Manchester City.

It is crazy to think that West Ham was challenging for a European competition at one point. Now, they are simply just trying to score a goal. The Hammers have failed to find the back of the net in their last three matches, losing to Manchester United, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. Their defeat at the hands of the Gunners was extra laughable, as West Ham lost 6-0, at London Stadium.

West Ham has gone winless in each of their last eight matches across all competitions, including losing to Bristol City in the third round of the FA Cup. The Hammers currently sit ninth in the table, eight points back of Manchester United for sixth, and 11 behind Tottenham Hotspur for eighth.
